Nishiki Sugawara-Beda is a Dallas-based Japanese-American visual artist whose paintings and installations explore themes rooted in Zen Buddhism. By utilizing ancient materials like Sumi ink and rice paper, she connects her heritage with modern Western aesthetics. Her work is featured in the permanent collection of the Dallas Museum of Art and has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She currently serves as an Associate Professor of Art at Southern Methodist University.
